David is Founder and Executive Director of the Pathfinder Outdoor Education Center. The Center is a not-for-profit focused on providing outdoor and experiential educational venues for youth. Programming includes topics in wilderness medicine and outdoor adventure.  The Center also operates the W0VCK radio station and trains students in the Olympic Shooting Sports.

He is also Program Chair for the pioneering youth leadership and employment program known as Growing Futures. Based on successful programs in many cities, including San Francisco, Atlanta and Indianapolis, the program addresses generational poverty and workforce development needs.

Prior to his current activities, David completed a 39-year career with AEGON/Transamerica where he directed a variety of asset management activities in the Americas, serving as President of AEGON USA Investment Management, AEGON USA Realty Advisors and numerous subsidiaries. In addition to broad responsibilities in the fixed income arenas, his real estate practice areas included extensive consulting, workout and restructuring activities for both affiliated and unaffiliated institutional clients. During his career, he participated in the evaluation and assimilation of numerous strategic acquisitions.

David is a member of the Executive Board of the Hawkeye Area Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Board and Vice-Chair of Trees Forever and has been active in numerous not-for- profit agencies working with and mentoring young people.

He was awarded a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration degree from Marquette University.
